Hey there, and welcome! I’m Anja —a language lover, passionate teacher, and your future German guide. I’ve been teaching online for over five years now, and it’s been such a joy to connect with amazing people from all corners of the world. Every student brings something new, and I’ve learned just as much from them as they have from me.

I was born and raised in Germany, but a couple of years ago I packed my bags and moved to Portugal—chasing sunshine, a new start, and a slower pace of life. Along the way, I’ve had to pick up Portuguese (B1). So trust me, I get what it’s like to be on the other side of the screen, trying to find the right words and make sense of tricky grammar rules. We’re in this together!

Apart from that I grew up bilingual due to my parents’ roots (Serbo-Croatian), and also speak fluent English (C1) and French (B1).

What lights me up about teaching? Helping people find their voice in German—without pressure, without fear. I’m all about creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. I’ll meet you where you’re at, cheer you on, and help you grow with lessons that actually feel fun and useful. Think progress, not perfection.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me out in nature, hitting the gym, curled up with a book, or catching up with friends over coffee. I paint, I write, and yes—I will stop to say hi to almost every dog I see. My faith is the most important part of who I am and shapes how I teach—with kindness, purpose, and connection at the heart of it all.
